Somewhere Over the Rainbow: Finding Peace in the Midst of Challenge

Is anyone else feeling challenged today?
Life can feel heavy. For many of us, that weight shows up through personal responsibilities, uncertainty in the world, health concerns, financial pressure, or simply the relentless pace of daily life. Often, it is not just one thing, but many things layered together.
This morning, the song Somewhere Over the Rainbow came to mind. For a long time, I believed happiness lived somewhere ahead of me. That once I arrived at the right place, reached the right milestone, or resolved the right problem, peace would follow.
Over time, especially through seasons of change and loss, I began to question that idea. I wondered whether the place I was chasing actually existed. A quiet unease surfaced, along with a deeper question. What if there is more than this?
Like many people, I once believed my discomfort was caused entirely by circumstances. The solution, I thought, was to change what was happening around me. But what unfolded instead was a different kind of journey. One rooted in curiosity, perspective, and inner work.
As my focus shifted from what felt heavy to what might be liberating, new teachers and ideas entered my life. They pointed toward a simple truth. We are not powerless in the face of circumstances. We have the capacity to choose how we relate to them.
This morning, as stress quietly stirred, I paused and remembered that wisdom. I am bigger than this moment. My capacity can grow. Calm and clarity are still available to me.
Somewhere over the rainbow is not a distant destination. It is something that can be accessed here and now, even in the midst of uncertainty.
Maybe the gold is not something to chase, but something to notice more often.
