There Is More of You Here

Understanding the Self that is always here
Sometimes a circumstance begins to feel larger than we are.
A decision we can't make.
A relationship we can't fix.
An uncertain future.
Something we're afraid to lose.
Before long, we aren't simply experiencing the circumstance.
We are living under the weight of it.
Our attention narrows.
We think harder.
Search for certainty.
Try to control the outcome.
And it becomes difficult to access the very capacities we need most.
But there is more of you here.
The ten-foot-tall version of you
Imagine a ten-foot-tall version of yourself.
Not a better version.
Not a more enlightened version.
Simply a version of you large enough to hold the circumstance without being held by it.
This is what I mean by the deepest, wisest, most loving presence within us.
I call it Self.
You might call it your authentic Self, essential Self, Higher Self, soul, spirit, inner wisdom, or something else entirely.
The experience matters more than the name.
From this deeper presence, we can experience fear without becoming only fear.
Feel uncertainty without demanding immediate certainty.
Care deeply about another person without abandoning itself.
Hold complexity without reducing everything to a right answer.
From Self, there is a steadiness rooted in something deeper.
Our value is not being decided by this moment.
Our belonging doesn't have to be continually earned.
Our place doesn't disappear because someone disapproves, something fails, or the path ahead is unclear.
We don't need to know everything.
We can trust our capacity to meet what comes.
You already know this presence
You may have experienced Self many times without having a name for it.
Think of a moment when you simply knew what mattered.
Maybe you were in the middle of something difficult and found an unexpected steadiness.
Maybe you stopped trying to find an answer and suddenly knew the next step.
Maybe you responded with compassion when defensiveness would have been easier.
Maybe you were creating, walking in nature, praying, playing, writing, making music, or simply sitting quietly when you felt deeply connected to yourself and life.
Nothing outside you may have changed.
But there was more room.
More perspective.
More choice.
You weren't necessarily certain.
But you trusted yourself to meet what came next.
That is the Self I am pointing toward.
Not a Self we need to manufacture.
Not a Self that disappears when life becomes difficult.
A Self we learn to recognize.
Knowing is not certainty
Knowing can be quieter than figuring out.
Sometimes it sounds like:
This matters.
This isn't mine.
It's time.
Not yet.
I need to have this conversation.
I don't know where this leads, but this is the next step.
Fear may still object.
Other people may disagree.
The thinking mind may still have questions.
But beneath the noise something feels steady.
This kind of knowing doesn't guarantee the outcome we want.
It gives us something else:
a trustworthy place within ourselves from which to participate.
Creator Mode is about cultivating relationship with this Self and becoming increasingly aware of what is organizing us.
Not so fear disappears.
Not so striving disappears.
But so neither has to become the whole of our experience.
You don't have to believe any of this.
Instead, remember.
Think of a time when you were facing something real, but it wasn't bigger than you.
Ask:
Who was I in that moment?
What was available in me?
What did I trust?
You may discover that this presence isn't unfamiliar at all.
It has been here all along.
And when life feels enormous again, perhaps something within you can remember:
There is more of me here.
